Thai Social Determinants of Health Network
| Thai Secial Determinants of Health Network or shortly called Thai SDH Network was formed after Thai Delegates adopted the resolution on reducing health inequities through action on the social determinants of health at World Health Assembly (WHA62) in 2009. The network aims to synergise the work of health and non-health sectors to advocate the society on inequitiy issues in Thai society.
Thai SDH Network invited Sir Michael Marmot, the former chairperson of Commission on Social Determinants of Health, to give the keynote speech on "closing the gap of health inequities in a generation through action on social determinants of health" at the 2nd National Health Assembly on 16th December 2009 at the United Nations Conference Centre. The technical session on SDH movement from the global to national levels was organized on the following day. The pannelists are Sir Michael Marmot, former Chairperson of CSDH, Ms. Bridget Lloyd, Global Coordinator of People Health Movement, Hon. Mary Collins
Director of British Columbia’s Healthy Living Alliance Secretariat and Mr. Narongsakdi Aungkasuvapala, Chair of Thai SDH Network and Senior Advisor for the National Health Commission Office. This session aims to exchange experiences of driving SDH movement in other countries. Ultimately, it is anticipated to motivateThai SDH network to work in concerted actions.
